Kenilworth Lions welcome help from their new volunteer
|
When visiting the Furniture Store earlier in the year in order to open the new Store Bazaar, local MP Jeremy Wright, MP for Kenilworth and Southam promised to return to help out with Saturday collections of donated furniture.
True to his word Jeremy recently went out on our Saturday collection van with Lion President Andy Cartwright and Lion Bob Stear.

"I really enjoyed the experience." said Jeremy.
"It gave me an insight to the hard work of the Lions in running their Furniture Store to support their charitable causes".

Help on Saturday at our Furniture Store is always needed and new volunteers are most welcome.
Would you like to help for a few hours?
Why not pop into the Store for a chat with John and find out how.

Kenilworth Lions now have a new president for the Lions year 2011-2012
Andy Cartwright.
Andy is 64 and lives in Kenilworth with his wife Pam. They have spent two periods of their lives in Kenilworth, the first between 1975 and 1985, and have many fond memories of making many friends, their 2 children growing up, being involved in Thorns PTA and Odyssey, a local drama group. They returned to Kenilworth in 2005 to be closer to children and grandchildren and while the town has changed a great deal over the years are still very pleased to be back. Andy had a long career in IT, working with BT, Hewlett Packard, National Grid, Compaq & Digital before retiring in 2005. At that point he decided he wanted to make a contribution to the community, and increase his social circle, and chose to join the Lions because of their commitment to the area and hands on approach to community service. Andy has been very involved in Lions events and chaired the Grand Show committee for the last two very successful Grand Shows.
